SPOOKY: Most People Know Little About Their Homeowners Insurance Policy

According to a national study, more than half of homeowners say they know very little about their home insurance policies and coverages.  In fact, some 54% of all homeowners surveyed admitted to knowing “not much at all” about their homeowners policies. Some of the most dangerous aspects homeowners  typically ignore on their policies are: replacement value, deductibles, and covered losses. A homeowner will sometimes upgrade their home and never update their home insurance policy.  When the listed replacement value is no longer enough to rebuild their home to new standards, the homeowner is often underinsured.
